When it comes to protection, performance, and design, the 2022 Hyundai Kona hits the nail on the head. This subcompact SUV proudly stands out from the crowd with its sleek outer shell and its inner mechanics, but don't just take our word for it. Safety
Your safety is arguably the most vital aspect when shopping for your upcoming vehicle, which is why the 2022 Kona is such a fine option. This model proves itself with a wide array of protective innovations that work to keep you from getting into collisions, starting with Driver Attention Warning1. This standard feature can sense when your focus isn't entirely on the road, and can give you a suggestion to take a quick break. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist2 is optional on this ride, which can be useful when you are among other motorists, as it informs you when you're too close to another driver. And with available Safe Exit Warning3, you'll feel confident hopping out of your Kona when it's the appropriate time.
Exterior
The outer shell of the 2022 Hyundai Kona is just as impressive as its preventative technologies, as evidenced by the modern look. Smooth curves will cause your eyes to trace from one section of its body to the next, which will surely garner envious glances as you make your way down the Burlington Turnpike. Although projector halogen headlights come standard, you can spring for an LED setup as an alternative for heightened clarity after sundown. A power sunroof and roof side rails are also available on the Kona, so becoming one with nature while bringing along some extra equipment is entirely possible. For a personal touch, be sure to choose a color like Teal Isle or Pulse Red to separate yourself from the rest. And with optional 18-inch wheels, all eyes will surely be on you!
Performance
We would be doing the Hyundai Kona a grave injustice if we failed to discuss what makes it hum. Rumbling under the SE and SEL trims is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, which already puts you ahead of the race with 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque. Sticking with this standard system will also grant you an estimated 30/35/32 MPG city/hwy/combined4 fuel economy rating. For extra pep in your step, check out the N Line or Limited edition to gain access to the optional 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain. This upgrade doesn't pull any punches, which is demonstrated through the relentless 195 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. Lastly, consider available AWD with Active On-Demand technology for extra grip on the road.

1. Driver Attention Warning (DAW) is only a warning to inform the driver of a potential lack of driver attention or drowsiness. It does not detect and provide an alert in every situation. It is the driver's responsibility to remain alert at all times. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.
2. Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) assists the driver by warning of other cars in the blind spot region. It senses the rear side territory of the vehicle when it is traveling over 20 mph. There are limitations to the function, range, detection and clarity of the system. It will not detect all vehicles or objects in the blind spot. Its operation depends on the size, distance, angle and relative speed difference between your car and other cars. BCW may not operate if sensors are obscured in any way. Do not rely exclusively on BCW. BCW is a supplemental system and the driver must still be attentive and exercise caution when driving. It is important to always signal, look over your shoulder and through your mirrors before changing lanes. It is the driver's responsibility to be aware of the surroundings and ensure it is clear before changing lanes or directions. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.
3. When the vehicle is parked, Safe Exit Warning (SEW) can alert the driver when a vehicle is approaching from behind. SEW does not work in all situations and is not a substitute for driver or passenger attentiveness. Always be aware of your surroundings and attentive of approaching vehicles. See Owner's Manual for further details and limitations.
